My favorite kind of pasta is really not a "kind" but rather a "meal" - my mom's spaghetti with meatballs. Sometimes she would make it with spaghetti, sometimes with rigatoni, but always with her amazing homemade sauce. I moved out on my own a couple decades ago, and mom lives in another state, so I don't get to see her very often. Man, I miss her... and her spaghetti. ;)

My favorite pasta is actually soba noodles. While not the traditional Italian variety of pasta, they are damn tasty, especially cooked up with some chard and garlic and Parmesan.

Favorite pasta was probably my only home-made success. Some friends over in the kitchen, sipping wine, helping roll pasta. We were having too much fun to be scared of the pasta machine - I think that's why it was successful!

The very first meal my boyfriend ever cooked for me was a pasta dish he called Pasta Carbonara. I knew immediately this was not traditional carbonara but was delicious anyway with capers, garlic, oil packed sun-dried tomatoes, & onion sauteed w/ crisp pancetta & quickly tossed w/ spaghetti. 4 years later, it's still my favorite pasta dish!

This was our favorite Italian restaurant where we lived and we were moving to California, so I asked the chef for the recipe. We were regulars ,so they gladly shared it. Long time reader, first time commenter. My world of pasta knowledge is quite limited, despite my (1/4) Italian heritage. I am a fan of most pasta's I've tried, and love anything with garlic. My favorite pastas are penne and fusilli. Lately, they get topped by whatever veggies happen to be languishing in my crisper drawer--roasted or sauteed with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and fresh herbs. If I'm feeling decadent, I throw together a sweet Marsala sauce with a touch of cream. Yum.

My favorite pasta is fettuccine. I like how bigger it is than spaghetti, and to me it is more versatile, because of it's width so there are more things you can do with it. I like to use in in place of lasagna when making "lasagna"
