Vanilla Garlic is my nifty food blog that I update every Tuesday morning. I write essays about life and food that I like to think are humorous or thoughtful. Whether I succeed at either is debatable.
PALMIERS! Or elephant ears as some people call them!I love them. :)
These are great! I'm definitely going to try them. I love how fast and easy they are!
Lucky me DH was at the store while I was reading the recipe... I'm eating elephant ears tonight!Thank you! P.S. Are the Olympic protests in your area? I know it's way off topic but I was wondering what it's like over there. Here the Olympics haven't been mentioned in conversation yet, the elections and deployments are eating up all the conversation time.
love these. my daughter makes them quite frequently.
Oh my! They look so delicate and cute. Will try them out!
Garrett ~ My angelheart Eric has to be dragged away from a bakery in Orange County that makes wonderful palmiers (everything else is not so good or memorable even). I stopped making them at home because he'd scoff them at a moment's notice. He can exercise restraint, but he loses all control when it comes to palmiers. Now, I just make them as a surprise. Someone has to watch out for the health of the household, right?
palmiers!!! my version, dubbed dinner plates, are a version rolled out in confectioner's sugar.they turn out very thin and crisp.
we make these all the time, sometimes very messy and sticky bt sooo simple. i would advice anyone to make them and quick, try them with whipped cream and stawrberries.its fresh, easy yet delcious!!
Thank you for this recipe! I made them this weekend and you were right - they were so easy and fun! I went minimalist with just cane sugar but next time I'm going to experiment.
In Germany, they are called "Schweineöhrchen" - pigs ears. Delicious!
Hey, you're leaving a comment! That's pretty darn cool, so thanks. If you have any questions or have found an error on the site or with a recipe, please e-mail me and I will reply as soon as possible.~Garrett
