So I'm about to start my drive from Davis to Mission Viejo in Orange County. I'm doing this with two cats, and a rainy Highway 5 for 6-8 hours. I expect traffic through Sac, Stockton, and L.A. I have some posts, but they will be delayed a bit. I won't say happy holidays, though I wish them, because saying it would take on the idea that this would be good-bye, and it's not. This is really just a filler post until I can sit down and finish the restaurant review I wrote; also expect a special overly decadent Christmas cupcake, a Christmas dinner, the world's best flank steak recipe (I kid you not), and a few other surprises!
Pray I don't die on the car drive!

I'm alive! The cats were surprisingly well behaved, the rain stopped, and we listed to an audio recording of "The Ominvore's Dilemma." All n' all, a peaceful trip.
